Our goal is to help our youth become equipped for a productive and purpose-filled life. The curriculum includes a variety of empowering and enrichment activities.
IPD encourages its youth to refocus their attention on their ambitions and aspirations to achieve their goals. Helping our girls/boys understand their purpose goes hand in hand with helping them establish a life vision.
As mentees progress through their academic careers and personal growth, the Destined for Greatness Mentorship Program focuses on helping participants enhance their social and interpersonal skills, self-image, and self-worth.

Thank you for your interest in joining the Destined for Greatness Mentoring Program as a volunteer. You can choose from several volunteer options with us. Volunteers are critical to the healthy development of all the youth who participate in our programs. We’re always looking for women for our young ladies and or men for out young men that have VALUE, INTEGRITY, SELF RESPECT, KINDNESS, COMPASSION, and who are eager to give their time and talents to our organization. Depending on the role in which you will serve at IPD, all volunteers who wish to engage directly with our youth will be required to have a formal interview with our Executive Director, receive mentor training, and undergo level II background screening.
Empowers single parents to achieve financial independence by providing a network of support, professional attire, and the development tools to help our men and women thrive in work and in life. Our program consists of sessions aimed at assisting our parents in recognizing their own worth, developing a positive image, and improving their job-search abilities.
Communication skills, interviewing techniques, boundary setting, self-care, goal setting, positive self-talk, and other topics are covered. We offer a curriculum to help individuals develop healthy self-esteem, self-sufficiency, and sustainability in their personal and professional lives.
This program teaches our participants important financial principles that will help them comprehend and establish a financial strategy, as well as discover ways to implement and monitor that plan. They will learn how to use the most important economic analysis tools to make better financial decisions for both annual budgets and long-term stability. Our programs will offer individualized financial and employment coaching, as well as financial education classes on topics such as debt and credit.
Destined for Success Clothing Closet
-help remove barriers to success. IPD will offer one-on-one, support to help individuals develop and achieve career goals, connect with employers and advance in their careers.
Following the completion of the first workshop, each participant selects workplace appropriate clothing. Volunteers assist clients in choosing interview attire such as a suit, blouse, jewelry, and scarf.
Following the second workshop, clients are invited to choose a handbag, tie, and shoes. At the third workshop, our clients receive a certificate of completion and are invited to choose up to five pieces of clothing.
IPD provides free clothing for families, both new and gently used. This program enables our neighbors to receive clothing for job interviews, school, and special events. Clothing items are donated by local families and cleaned and organized by our staff and volunteers before being distributed.
Grocery items such as fresh produce, canned meats & vegetables, rice, beans, and pasta, are provided to our neighbors to supplement their weekly needs. We are supported by local corporations, food service partners, and volunteers.
